All our rigs are custom made for each individual boat; we know how much depends on the rig and that there is no room for compromise. As area agents we can supply Seldon, Z spars, and have particular skills in advising on suitable furling systems.

Booms & Rodkickers

Booms

Our booms can be equipped with a variety of reefing systems to suit different boats and the needs of you and your crew. We can supply both Aluminium and Carbon booms.

Rodkickers

A Rodkicker facilitates easier sail handling when reefing, preventing the boom from dropping onto the coach roof or into the cockpit. When fitted with a gas spring, it lifts the boom when the kicking strap is released. Whilst excellent for trimming the main in light air, the rodkicker also doubles the purchase of your kicking strap. Choosing the right size is important so please contact our rigging team to discuss your requirement.

Spinnaker & Gennaker Poles

Aluminium Spinnaker Poles

Our aluminium spinnaker poles give you fast and safe spinnaker handling. The telescopic aluminium poles can be extended to 150% of its normal length, a must when poling out a large genoa or a gennaker and it can be telescoped down for easy storage.

Carbon Spinnaker Poles

Carbon fibre spinnaker poles are lighter than aluminium and suitable for dinghies and yachts up to 30 tonnes. They are specifically designed to make light work of spinnaker handling without compromising on its strength. Selden's carbon fibre poles are reinforced in areas subject to the greatest loads and wear. This enables the crew to handle the spinnaker faster and with less effort. Larger poles are tapered to optimise weight/strength requirements.

Gennaker Poles

A gennaker pole is mounted to the deck of the bow. Its role is to give the gennaker clear air whilst improving boat performance and efficient handling of the sail. We offer both aluminium and lightweight, carbon range which can be fitted to most yachts.

Rope

Halyards, Sheets and Reefing Lines are all forms of a yachts running rigging.

As appointed regional dealers for Marlow we use their ropes with all systems. We carry a wide selection from Marlow, from simple 3mm burgee line right up to top of the range Dyneema for performance & racing boats.

As with any sheets or line chaffing and erosion can occur and when it is time to replace, our riggers will advise on and produce the highest quality spliced products to the specification you require.

Wire

We only use marine grade 316 stainless steel wire for our rigging and ex-stock we can supply 1x19, Dyform, 7x7, 7x19 and PVC covered wire.

Talurit splicing & roll swaggering is carried out from our own workshops and is made to order based on your specific requirements.

Standing rigging are the shrouds, forestay & backstays that support your mast.

All our rigs are made from marine grade stainless steel and optimised to ensure the mast is secure but can be tuned to ensure good windward and offwind performance. To ensure you get the most out of your rig our riggers offer regular rig checks and tuning to prolong the life of your existing rig and to ensure the maximum performance from your vessel.

We strongly recommend that standing rigging is replaced every ten years. A shorter period may be required by insurers who will look carefully at the condition of the rig in the event of an insurance claim. The replacement of your rigging involves lifting the mast, removing all the rigging, replacing it and then re-stepping the mast.

This whole process also allows for a thorough check of all electrical and electronic equipment attached to the mast, including mast head instruments. The riggers have years of experience and with our workshop capabilities can ensure all of the work is done to the highest standards.
