Celebrating Our 15,000th Job!

Here at Mylor Chandlery and Rigging we are celebrating our 15,000th job!! We have been in the marine industry 25 years, proudly providing our professional rigging services to our customers. All our riggers have an innate connection with the sea and a passion for sailing, only enhancing our drive to deliver the best service we can. Our customer’s happiness is one of the most important things to us and we thank each and every one of you who has helped us reach this milestone.

Our 15,000th job was booked by Sweet Dreams, a 44’ custom built ocean cruising yacht. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we are gifting this job to mark the occasion.

Since her launch in 2007, Sweet Dreams has cruised extensively in UK’s waters, with the west coast of Scotland being her familiar sailing ground in her early days. 2011 was the start of their adventures further afield. They started by crossing the North Sea, then embarked on a four year trip cruising the beautiful coasts of Sweden, Denmark, the Aland Islands and Finland, making it as far as Helsinki. In 2014 they returned to their familiar sailing grounds on the west coast of Scotland where they spent the summer. 2016 brought yet more adventures for the couple as they ventured south; via the east coast of Ireland to the Channel Island the Brittany. The following year the pair cruised down the west coast of France, finishing up in La Rochelle.

In 2017 the husband tragically passed away and the widowed wife was initially unsure as to what the future held with ‘Sweet Dreams’. However notes left with the will convinced his wife to retain the boat. In her own words – ‘I believe that it was John’s last gift to me - leaving an instruction that re-united me with the boat that had been such a huge part of our lives, so that I could re-discover my love of sailing.’ Sweet Dreams is now based in Mylor where the owner sails her with one of the friends who helped build her and now looks after her as skipper.
