Sweet Dreams is a beautiful 44’ custom built ocean cruising yacht designed by Bill Dixon, and built by her owner and late husband. At the time, the pair were studying at Lyme Regis Boatbuilding Academy and started building in January 2000 after only a year studying at the academy. Her hull construction is modern wood - western yellow cedar strip plank under cold moulding in khaya mahogany with a layer of fibreglass for impact resistance. With the help of fellow students and tutors, Sweet Dreams was launched in Plymouth in September 2007.
Summary of work completed:
Sweet Dreams has been on multiple adventures over the past years, cruising in waters around the west coast of Scotland, as well as exploring the west coast of France, to name just a few. Sweet Dreams now resides in Mylor where she plans to partake in the YCC regatta from Dartmouth to Santander in July, followed by the ARC in 2021.
